A Journey of Remembrance – A 10-Day Congolese Delegation Tour in Israel
Israel Forever Foundation & Partners (Puzzle Israel) has set out to organize, plan and realize a 10-day-long Congolese delegation tour in Israel.

Following the Holocaust, humanity said: “Never again.” Unfortunately, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been going through a genocide that has so far killed more than 8 million people since 1998. If nothing is done, the chaotic and devastating situation in the country will lead to more and more victims. This project of visiting Israel in this context will help raise people’s awareness of the ongoing genocide in the DRC and, in turn, may help stop it.

The aims of the Congolese delegation’s visit to Israel are to show their support to the people of Israel and learn from the world’s Holocaust authority about how to keep alive the memory of the 8-10 million Congolese who have died in the ongoing genocide in the DRC.

Depending on the funds that our partnership will be able to raise, we hope to sponsor the delegation’s arrival in Israel for this important cause. There will be 52 delegation members with the average cost per person for the entire stay priced at $4,000, including delegation expenses and airfares.

We recognize that there are numerous humanitarian crises around the world that require urgent attention. Yet the war and humanitarian crisis currently overwhelming the DRC are on a scale that can no longer be ignored. Now is the time for action; now is the time for leadership.

We hope that you will agree to help with our important cause to bring the Congolese delegation to Israel and make a true difference to millions of lives.

The Lone Soldier Project
When Lone Soldiers are discharged from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), they are presented with many choices. Choosing to stay in Israel is a tough one, since their families, friends, and networks are all abroad.

The next steps in their lives can be intimidating, especially since they lack the financial and emotional support they need in Israel. Supported by the Israel Forever Foundation (IFF), Puzzle Israel has created a structured four-day seminar that will allow the Lone Soldiers, who are about to return to civilian life, to expand their social and professional networks.

In this unique seminar, we will expose them to Israel through its nature, culture, and history. At the same time, we will provide them with tools to help them thrive economically and socially while helping them navigate the professional marketplace.

As an incentive and sign of appreciation, donating schools from Jewish communities around the world (particularly from the Northern US) will receive an educational Teacher’s Kit that will include structured lessons concerning Israel, the IDF, and the unique service that Lone Soldiers experience.

The Lone Soldier seminar consists of four days and three nights, with the first two days focusing on group bonding activities, hiking trips and getting to know the country on foot. The other two days focus on the specific tools the Lone Soldiers need in order to live and succeed in Israel.

Partnership2Gether: Twin Cities: Karmiel – Misgav – Pittsburgh Partnership

The Most Basic and Powerful Way to Connect to Another Person Is to Listen
Twin cities mean double the opportunities – and double the connections. As a part of this partnership program, Puzzle Israel developed a five-day-trip plan that focuses on the partnership region in Israel.

The trip itinerary included a wide variety of activities designed to highlight the region’s best features: peer-host hospitality, volunteering activities, home-cooked meals, hikes through nature reserves, and more. The Pittsburgh representatives participating in this program will get to experience meaningful encounters with the geography, people, and culture of their twin region and also have the joy of making new lifetime connections and bonds.

Puzzle Israel has set a goal to raise donations for renovating homes where survivors live. The renovation will focus on adapting the home of the survivor to the nursing needs of the elderly with a focus on creating a safe environment and not only cosmetic ones.
